A celebration of works from life drawing
20-21 March
An Exhibition of Life Drawing
What is this exhibition for?
There is such brilliant work being created in our life drawing sessions that I want to celebrate it by bringing it together in one room. This isn’t about selecting only “perfect” pieces - it’s about showing the range of work being made and the progress that’s happening week by week.
Is it an exhibition or just a showing of work? That’s really up to you. If you would like to sell your pieces, that’s great. If you don’t want to sell, there is absolutely no pressure. And if you’d prefer to remain anonymous, that’s completely fine too.
This is mainly a chance to expose your work to others - to show friends what we’ve been up to, to share your thoughts and ideas about your progress, and to experience the very rewarding feeling of people responding to what you’ve made.
From an outsider’s perspective, this exhibit is a way of showing that practice really does make improvements! It’s about experimentation, taking risks and making mistakes, especially at the beginning of the journey. And to show the blossoming variety of responses achieved from the same pose.
It will be part of the Old Yarn Mills open days (Friday and Saturday), when the antiques shops and studio will open to the public. Alongside this, there will be upcoming beginner life drawing sessions and advanced sessions for those who want to push their skills further.
Ultimately, I want this to be a positive and supportive way of sharing what we do - celebrating the work, the effort, and the courage it takes to show up to the classes and then put something on the wall!

Pricing & Sales
If you choose to make your work available for sale, prices will be kept modest and accessible, in keeping with the spirit of the show.
Any money from a sale will be shared between you as the artist, the admin ‘Studio Sherborne’, and a nominated charity. This is simply to help cover the time and practical work behind the scenes, while also letting the exhibition give something back.
There is absolutely no obligation to sell work, and no pressure to take part in sales if you would rather just show your drawing. The aim is to keep this supportive, low-stress and about sharing the work, not turning it into a commercial event.
