Life Drawing

Join our intimate weekly life drawing sessions at Studio Sherborne. Our host will lead a few warm-up exercises, followed by short poses, increasing to 20-40min as the session goes on. We encourage everyone to develop their own style and approach.

It's a friendly, relaxed, and creative environment where you can explore lots of different mediums without pressure. All materials are provided.

These sessions are hosted by artist Victoria YJ or Erica Fairhurst.

  • Previous drawing experience recommended.

What’s Included:

Models

We have a rota of experienced life models, who will hold various poses during the two-hour session. The model will be nude.

Materials

We have a well stocked supplies cupboard in the studio, available to use in all our in-house sessions. This includes; quality cartridge paper, mixed coloured and sugar paper, acrylic paints, chalk pastels, oil pastels, coloured pencils, charcoal, inks and much more. You are also welcome to bring your own materials if there’s something special you’d like to try.

Supportive Environment

Our in-house classes are friendly, relaxed, and open to everyone. They’re a wonderful opportunity to explore your creativity, develop skills and connect with like-minded people. These sessions are hosted by professional artists who will give prompts and exercises throughout the class, helping you to develop your practice.

About the space

All our workshops take place in our downstairs studio, which offers step-free access. Led by our talented community of local artists and tutors, each session includes all the materials you’ll need—though you’re welcome to bring your own if there’s something special you’d like to use.

We have a range of seating options to keep you comfortable, including high workbenches with stools, standard tables and chairs, and easels.

Tea and coffee are available at every workshop, and you’re always welcome to BYOB. Toilets are located on the ground floor.

Studio Sherborne is set in a characterful old industrial unit. While we’ll do our best to keep things cosy, the space can be a little chilly at times—so we recommend bringing an extra layer or two to stay warm and comfortable.
