Printmaking with Emma Drake

These workshops are ideal for those seeking a deeper artistic experience, and explore traditional printmaking techniques that can be achieved at home without access to industrial presses.

Upcoming Workshops

  • Reduction Lino Print (3 weeks)

    Tuesday Afternoons, 2pm-4pm

Starting 10th March (for 3 weeks)

This three-week course introduces you to the reduction lino printing process - a layered printmaking technique using a single block of lino to build up an image in stages. Because the block is gradually “reduced,” each decision is permanent, making the process both thoughtful and exciting. The final result will be a small edition of richly layered prints.

£84 for Three weeks (£28 per session)

  • Introduction to Printmaking (5 weeks)

    Wednesday Evenings 6-8pm

Starting 22 April (for five weeks)

Discover the art of printmaking in this hands-on five-week course led by Emma Drake. Each week, you’ll explore a different printmaking technique - from lino cuts, tetra pack and homemade screen prints.

The course is designed to be accessible and creative - a ‘kitchen sink approach’, giving you the confidence and skills to continue printmaking at home - no need for professional press equipment!

    £140 (£28 per session)

  • Experimenting with Monoprint

About the space

All our workshops take place in our downstairs studio, which offers step-free access. Led by our talented community of local artists and tutors, each session includes all the materials you’ll need—though you’re welcome to bring your own if there’s something special you’d like to use.

We have a range of seating options to keep you comfortable, including high workbenches with stools, standard tables and chairs, and easels.

Tea and coffee are available at every workshop, and you’re always welcome to BYOB. Toilets are located on the ground floor.

Studio Sherborne is set in a characterful old industrial unit. While we’ll do our best to keep things cosy, the space can be a little chilly at times—so we recommend bringing an extra layer or two to stay warm and comfortable.
