Erica and Claudia will jointly host this painting evening to create a group painting on a giant paper tablecloth, which will be cut up and shared out at the end of the session. Together they will informally guide the process of painting a still life of flowers, using various materials, including oil pastels and watercolour and inks, whilst joining in the process. We will be moving around the table, so that the finished piece is a collaborative work. We will intentionally loosen up, through various drawing/painting exercises.
The evening promises to be an entertaining and social class!
You are welcome to BYO drinks, tea and coffee will be provided.
Your Tutors - Erica Fairhurst & Claudia Dharamshi
Erica Fairhurst is a painter who works mainly in acrylic paint using a palette knife to layer the paint onto the canvas. She loves colour and is experimental with striking bold background colours which set off her figurative landscapes, still life, and portraits.
Claudia Dharamshi: “Claudia is a colourist painter with an impressionistic style. There is calligraphic liquidity in her figurative and abstract forms and brushed shapes. A spontaneous fluid sketch process enlivens her work. Her plein air paintings are interpretations and often include an element of imagination. She aims to share her sensation of a space with the viewer.” John Meaker, Abbortsbury Landscape Festival
